Dinamo Zagreb boss reacts after ‘tough’ loss: “Milan are the better team”

By Oliver Fisher -

Ante Cacic didn’t have much to say after Dinamo Zagreb lost 4-0 against AC Milan last night, but he did concede his side were beaten by the better team.

Milan went on their trip to Croatia knowing that three points were absolutely in order to keep their hopes of reaching the last 16 in the Champions League alive, and they took advantage of Red Bull Salzburg’s defeat to Chelsea by winning 4-0 in Zagreb.

The Rossoneri moved into second place in the Group E standings with a commanding display as Matteo Gabbia, Rafael Leao, Olivier Giroud and an own-goal guided Stefano Pioli’s men to a comfortable win at the Stadion Maksimir.

Dinamo boss Ante Cacic released a brief post-match statement after the defeat against Milan to UEFA.com, with his comments relayed by SempreMilan.it.

“The result is tough. Milan are the better team, but we also had our chances. I’m sorry, because our fans have been great. When you are closed in defence, it is very difficult to counter-attack against a team like this,” he said.
