Dionisi stresses that Milan ‘haven’t lost their identity’ during poor run of form

Sassuolo coach Alessio Dionisi has stressed that AC Milan have not lost their identity despite the poor run of form that they are on.

The Italian coach was speaking during his press conference (via Milan News) on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s clash between Milan and his Sassuolo side.

Both of the teams have been on a rotten run of form in recent weeks and are looking far away from their stated aspirations from the start of the season.

Despite the fact that Milan now look far away from defending their Serie A crown, Dionisi is not going to be taking anything for granted at San Siro.

“Milan have lost a few games, they haven’t lost their identity, they haven’t lost anything. We will have to be good because on a performance level, we were good on Sunday,” the coach said.

Sassuolo lost four in a row before then drawing 1-1 with Monza last weekend in a much-improved display. Dionisi discussed the fact that there was a clear improvement from his side during that game with the Brianzoli.

“We come from a good game where we could have pulled off even more, we have slightly improved but we are not cured. We need continuity and attitude, then there are the opponents who are the Italian champions, they play at home and they are suffering like us. Whoever has the better attitude will prevail,” Dionisi explained.
