The CEO of Bologna has admitted that midfielder Nicolas Dominguez has ambitions of playing in the Champions League amid links with a move to Milan.
Sports Digitale journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu was the most recent to report that Dominguez is attracting interest from Milan as well as from Fenerbahce and he could move on this summer if Bologna get the figure they are after.
The 25-year-old only has one year left on his contract and thus it could be the last summer for Bologna to cash in on him, otherwise they run the risk of him going for free.
He is used to a deeper-lying midfield role which means he could compliment the new arrivals Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders plus the existing options.
The CEO of Bologna, Claudio Fenucci, spoke at their preseason retreat and was asked about a number of different situations linked to the transfer market including the possible sale of Dominguez and winger Riccardo Orsolini.
“There is interest in many of our players. Their contracts will expire in a year, we think it is necessary to renew them,” he said (via MilanNews).
“It is easier for us to speak with Orsolini’s agent than with Dominguez’s, even if he himself said in an interview that he is happy in Bologna and this allows us to open up to the renewal, even if then the will to stay may be linked to possible offers.
“Many have the ambition to play in the Champions League, but for us he is a pivot and we will try to keep him.”

If there is any money left after Chukwueze and Okafor deal I would LOVE for Milan to go after him. Exactly the kind of player we need if we are serious about fighting on multiple fronts cause we saw last season what lack of squad depth does.

Definately Theo, leao, Giroud, Chuk and pulisic will go forward. We want a concrete defensive midfielder to take care of the back. I prefer Dominguez. Musah plays like Frattesi and Milinkovic – savic. He is not defensive at all.
If we really want to play in 433, then we should sign him. Or else, I believe we’ll still play with 4231 with a bit of variation here n there.
