Tuttosport: From dreams to doubts – four transfer targets Milan are currently working on

By Oliver Fisher -

The Milan management are working hard to improve the squad and there are several negotiating tables currently open, according to a report.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) begin their round-up by claiming that Charles De Ketelaere is a name that is becoming more and more insistent. He is now the number one target for the role of attacking midfielder but he can also play on the right wing if needed.

The obstacle remains convincing Club Brugge to lower their asking price from €40m, while there is also interest in another forward the Belgian side have in Noa Lang, who will be allowed to leave and would cost about half.

Looking at the centre-back role, Sven Botman is the main target and things looked to be going smoothly but Newcastle United are trying in every way to persuade the player to come to the Premier League.

Botman wants Milan but the economic offer that comes from the Premier League side is the one that Lille want to accept, and given that Botman will not be able to resist indefinitely, Milan have begun probing the ground over Torino’s Gleison Bremer.

Competition for the Brazilian is not lacking but the price should be lower (around €25m). The other option is to bet on Tomori-Kalulu as the full-time starting pairing and to sign a back-up, thus allocating the budget elsewhere.

  1. My predictions :

De Kettelaere will stay at Brugge
Bremer will go to Juve or Inter
Bottman will go to Psg or Newcastle
Noa Lang is garbage he can stay at Brugge

Instead we will keep Salamander and Messias both garbage. We will keep Diaz as an AM also garbage and we will play Gabbia also garbage.

    1. Milan will keep Gabbia even if he is not at Milan level because Milan need academy products to maintain squad size.

    2. I pretty much see this scenario as well.
The deals are taking too long and it’s getting complicated with time.

  2. I just read that Barcelona wants Bernardo Silva with that debt and he didn’t deny he would want to leave. That is the player we need.

  3. Redbird will not deviate much from Elliots approach, they are fund managers. My only disappointment would be if they don’t reinforce in critical areas, I.e kessie’s position, the right wing and a creative midfielder. They need to if they want to compete in the UCL.

  4. Agreed on the Bernardo Silva choice. However whether we have the financial muscle to sign him is another thing.

In Piolis 4-2-3-1 the no. 10 is more of a midfield link than a forward. Someone creative who can also track back, press etc like B Silva is ideal. Whereas Dybala or Raspadori are basically strikers, it leaves us too imbalanced. We want the 10 to sit deep if need be so we can leave Leao high up the pitch.

I dont know enough about CDK or the Jupiler league to comment. Hopefully he can make the step up to a top UCL side… which is where Milan are aiming for in the next few seasons.

  5. I want Dybala. He could play CAM or RW; he’s creative, of course has that great curling shot when he cuts inside from the right to his favorite left foot to find a space to shoot inside the far left post. He can also create opportunities for teammates and get assists. He’s just what we need.
