MN: Why Elliott can rest assured regarding sale of club despite Investcorp ultimatum

By Oliver Fisher -

The potential sale of AC Milan continues to generate speculation and it seems that Investcorp have upped the ante, according to a report.

MilanNews confirm that Investcorp have issued an ultimatum to Elliott Management regarding their offer to buy the club. During the month of April, the Bahraini fund negotiated exclusively with the owners of Milan, successfully concluding the due diligence process.

However, the certainty of the negotiation being concluded seemed to evaporate when Elliott decided to take time to better evaluate Investcorp’s offer and the question marks about the way it will be finances, which presented a window for RedBird Capital Partners to launch a rival bid.

There are 10 days remaining until the end of the season and Milan are fully concentrated on winning the Scudetto, then the time will come to talk more concretely about the sale. Investcorp ultimatum aside, Elliott are building a competitive club that is very attractive to potential buyers, so multiple bids shouldn’t be a surprise and the American fund can rest assured about being able to sell on their terms.
