Di Marzio: Emerson verbally agrees to Real Betis return after entourage meeting – the details

AC Milan and Real Betis are expected to discuss the future of Emerson Royal this week, with the Brazilian hoping for a Spanish return.

This morning, a video emerged of Emerson’s entourage heading into a meeting with representatives of Real Betis on the subject of him returning to the club, and it seems these talks have gone successfully.

As Gianluca Di Marzio reports this afternoon, the Brazilian has reached a ‘verbal agreement’ to return to Spain, where he left on good terms. However, the actual structure of the deal still needs to be worked out, as MilanNews relays.

Back to Spain

It is difficult to predict which route Milan will take, really. In January, a permanent exit, as well as loans, were discussed rather heavily. As we know, a permanent transfer was agreed but later cancelled due to his injury against Girona.

So, it cannot be ruled out that the Rossoneri seek a similar solution here. However, the report states that a loan deal is the ‘most likely hypothesis’. Though again, it is unknown whether it will be a dry loan or one with an option to buy.

With personal terms already agreed, it should not be too long before the two clubs work out the structure of a move.

  1. Where are those ppl who put this piece of trash above Calabria? Even management wanted Royal Failure gone in 6 months. Their summer signings by their own actions were a failure. But we had to strip away the identity and long time winners at the club to make way for the next set of shiny trinklets that gets dangled in fans faces. The worst part? Some fans like being mesmerized everytime…rinse and repeat..

  2. We don’t know that a permanent move was agreed for January before the injury, seeing as everyone involved denies there was and there’s little evidence to suggest otherwise. If he were just about to move, I don’t think we would have started him.

If he moves to Betis, then I will wish him all the best. There’s a hard working player there in need of some tactical coaching and the right role but he’s always been a pro and was used as a complete scapegoat early last season IMO. It’s not like we massively improved once he was out injured.

  3. Royal was a failure on the field. But if they sell Morata to como for 20M and paid 13(gala loan 6M some of which will have to be paid back to go to Como)…he didn’t work out but that’s a profit. Earlier reports of Pvlovic might be a target of crystal palace for 35mil and paid 18-20? Fofana is valued at 38 paid less than 25. The team didn’t perform but if one of 4 was a miss and made substantial gain on the rest? I mean results were unsuccessful but clearly better than signings Origi and FBT. And might get 10-12M for Royal after a year near break even or slight loss.

  4. This guy is like a VD and hi move to Spain would likely only be a loan at best. This guy isn’t going away anywhere permanently any time soon…. Stock up on penicillin …

  5. they should try to get in an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met even if its for 8-10mil

Its gonna suck if he comes back again next year after his loan

  6. I’m getting too happy too soon, for I won’t be surprised if Furlani finds a way to sabotage us once again.
If Emerson were to leave however, I think I’ll throw a party.
