AC Milan’s Primavera side were unable to build on their recent good form as they lost 2-1 away against Empoli this afternoon despite a positive performance.
A lot of the recent attention has understandably been on the Primavera’s excellent European run continued as they booked their place in the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League with a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid just a few days ago.
However, the team have also been doing better in the league having pulled away from the relegation places with wins against Bologna and Cagliari while also managing to keep a clean sheet.
However, the winning run came to an end today at the hands of Empoli, who took the lead through Seck a couple of minutes into the second half and then five minutes later Renzi doubled the advantage before Sia made it 2-1 in the 66th minute. Despite a spirited effort, an equaliser did not come.
