AC Milan defender Filippo Terracciano is of interest to Empoli and there is a chance that he leaves during the January window, a report claims.
Terracciano is finding more playing time at Milan in the first part of this season under Paulo Fonseca compared to the second half of last season under Stefano Pioli, after he joined from Verona in January.
He is a player in demand, given that Torino, Empoli and Como were all linked with him in the summer. The Italian preferred to stay with the Rossoneri, convinced he could be useful to the cause as an alternative to Emerson Royal on the right or Theo Hernandez on the left.
Terracciano has played four times in Serie A and once in the Coppa Italia for a total of 450 minutes, already more than triple the 125 minutes collected in four appearances during the six months of last season.
The 21-year-old cost Milan €4.5m and signed a contract until June 2028. According to Sky, there have already been initial contacts between the player’s entourage and the Empoli sporting director Roberto Gemmi, who is working to try to convince the player and Milan.
Terracciano ‘seems to be interested in this possibility’, unlike what happened in the summer, ‘given his limited use’. The first step is to get the green light from the full-back, then negotiations would start with the Rossoneri directors.
If just for more minutes I would prefer us loaning him out with no option to buy to a club where he is basically guaranteed playing week in week out. On the other hand if Torino is interested then let them have him and Jovic in January + 20 mil and we’ll take Ricci off their hands. Perfect solution 😀
Been here for 2 years and participated in 11 games, twice in his natural position. Its so bad transfermarkt are listing left back as his natural position. I’ve said it before and I will say it again I wont judge Terracciano before he gets consistant minutes in his natural position.
Sell him. Not good enough in my opinion
Yeah..not good enough sitting on the bench. 2 years of gametime, at a random club, later. Why did Milan sell him….
This is basically acerbi situation all over again.
If the sales of Terraciano and Jovic can fund a purchase of Ricci I’m all for it. We need both Bennacer and Ricci to alternate with Reijnders and Fofana second half of the season.
Bartesaghi should get more minutes as left back. He looked fine against Sassuolo. Managed to get into space for alot of crosses offensively and looked very stable defensively.
I really don’t understand anybody defending Terracciano. It’s not an issue of natural position. He is clueless and extremely bad in ANY position. This is a scouting failure. He should never have been hired to start with. If any club is silly enough to want him for any money, just sell him fast before they realize their mistake and desist.
Totally disagree with this approch, how many times do we need to see players go elsewhere and completely transform with consistancy and understanding? Obviously he is clueless, he barely play and when he do its a new role. Not only that he is forced to play a inverted role which looks even worse. Its like a right footer trying to play with his left. He gonna look bad. Not saying he is gonna be world beater but he got all the tools to become a solid fullback on the right.
indeed 100
b4 we try to off-load Terra, better how sell Royal & RLC,
Calabria/ Terra/ Flo can play there & they can’t be worse than Royal.
at CMF we still have Beni, Musah, Terra, Zeroli & Vos to play along (untouchable) Tiji & Fofana.
Royal cost more than Terra (fee, salary & goals conceded) & RLC ineffective + more income than to sell Terra.
Maybe we should just stop trying to make a RW play LB. But that would require common sense from this management
