Environmentalists claim Milan want 15k car park for new stadium but actual number is 750

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have been fighting fake news ever since they first expressed an interest in the San Donato area. With the project now officially announced, new incorrect claims have arrived from those opposed to the stadium.

The San Francesco area, which lies within San Donato, has been bought by the Rossoneri and they presented their project to the city council earlier this week. However, even though it’s a great opportunity for San Donato, a minority is against it.

Even before Milan presented their project, some were calling for a referendum but the San Donato Mayor Francesco Squeri quickly made it clear that there can not be a referendum without a project. And there likely won’t be any now either, until the council has fully processed the project.

The latest ridiculous claim relates to the car parks. Milan, as reported by Sportface, have had to clarify that they only intend to build 750 parking spaces within the Parco Sud area by the stadium. A number not at all close to the 15k (!) parking spaces that environmentalists have claimed the Rossoneri want to build.

Fortunately, those against remain a minority for now, while the rest are willing to hear out the project.

  1. What am I missing here…750 parking spots for a 69k stadium?
750 is wider if not built vertically, while if vertical that’s a small car park lol

    1. It”s 750 on south park (across the street). There is also a parking garage under the stadium. The one under the stadium should be able to contain few thousands.
