ESPN: Man Utd want Milan captain linked with €60m Liverpool move to partner Maguire

Manchester United are considering a move for AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli as they view him as an ideal partner for Harry Maguire, a report claims.

Romagnoli joined Milan back in 2015 from Roma for a fee widely reported to be in the region of €25m and has since become a star in addition to taking the captain’s armband ahead of last season.

However, there has been speculation about his future as Fichajes reported that Romagnoli is Liverpool’s number one defensive target, with a package of €60million being readied to try and poach the Italian.

According to ESPN, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to find Harry Maguire a long-term partner and Romagnoli is one of the names being considered.

Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake and Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings are the other two names that the board are weighing up moves for, the report claims.

Romagnoli has not missed a single minute of Serie A action this season.
