Fabrizio Romano dents Milan’s hopes of signing €40m forward from Chelsea

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been dealt a big blow in their hopes of signing Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

Ziyech only joined Chelsea last summer in a €40m deal from Ajax that could rise to €44m when factoring in bonuses (as per Wikipedia), but he found himself behind other attacking options under Thomas Tuchel like Mason Mount, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic.

A number of different sources – such as La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) for example – have reported that the Rossoneri management continue to consider Ziyech the most suitable profile to fill the gap left by Calhanoglu’s exit.

According to the latest from journalist Fabrizio Romano (via R1F), the chances that Milan land the Morocco international during the current window are very slim as Chelsea are not planning on letting Ziyech leave during the summer mercato. It could explain why other targets such as Dusan Tadic, Isco and James Rodriguez are dominating the headlines currently.

  1. We are linked with so many players it’s comical. Ziyech is nothing but a dream. He costs 40m. We are not spending that kind of money and Chelsea aren’t just going to give him to us on loan for nothing. Waste of time. Chelsea’s is smart they extended Giroud, Bakayoko to avoid losing them for nothing like we did with Donnaruma. Perhaps we can learn a lesson or two lol. Embarrassing. Tadoc isn’t coming Overmars said he’s not selling he’s under contract for another 3 years; Isco is too expensive…Stabizer is ideal but we probably won’t spend the money….so that leaves us with Illic. A backup player at best at this stage of his career. What a joke. We will sell Atalanta poegba (who will develop into a great player) for peanuts and they will sell us Illic lol. Sad
