Fabrizio Romano has claimed that in his opinion Gianluigi Donnarumma will extend with Milan, and gave some background on PSG’s previous interest.
The Donnarumma saga is dominating the headlines surrounding Milan for the second time in four years as the 22-year-old Italy international is less than 100 days from the expiry of his contract and there is nothing to suggest an agreement is imminent regarding a renewal.
In fact, most major sources are actually reporting that there is little progress being made in negotiations as Raiola’s requests are some way above what Milan have offered and appear willing to offer at the moment.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has given his take on the Donnarumma situation during the latest episode of his podcast, revealing his belief that a stay is still the most likely situation.
“I think Donnarumma is waiting to see what happens with the Champions League and that’s why the talks between the parties involved is bit slow. There’s nothing with Chelsea at the moment,” he said (via R1F).
“It’s my personal feeling that he will extend with Milan. 3 years ago PSG were offering something incredible. Like a limousine for Donnarumma, a big house for his family and big salary like €12m per season but he decided to extend with Milan.
“Trust me, if you will see this guy in Champions League you will understand what an opportunity it is to sign Donnarumma for free. Right now they [the clubs of Europe] don’t know the feeling. Trust me, he is special.”
