A few days ago, it was announced that Ermanno Feliciani would officiate the game between AC Milan and Monza tonight. Although the sample size is small, the Rossoneri don’t have a good history with him.
At the age of 33, Feliciani is not the most experienced referee in the top flight but he has been around Serie B and Serie C for quite some time. In total, he has officiated just 22 Serie A games and only one involving Milan, in May earlier this year.
It was the 3-1 defeat against Torino, when the Rossoneri really didn’t do a good job. Just two yellow cards were handed out in the game, one for Torino and one for Milan, and the Rossoneri were also awarded a penalty by the referee (not after VAR check).
Christian Pulisic won the penalty after Adam Masina rather blatantly put his arm around the American’s neck. Ismael Bennacer then converted from the spot, but it wasn’t enough to recoup the deficit.
In short, while the result wasn’t the best in Feliciani’s only Milan game as the head referee, the Rossoneri have themselves to blame for that. It remains to be seen what the outcome of tonight’s clash will be.
Sounds promising 👌
