Moretto: Fenerbahce ‘to make a major effort’ to sign Pavlovic as Tadic gets involved

Strahinja Pavlovic’s time at AC Milan risks being a very short one as talks are continuing over a potential sale to Fenerbahce, it is claimed.

Pavlovic only joined Milan over the summer from Red Bull Salzburg, but rumours about a departure after half a season are gaining momentum. Paradoxically he is expected to start against Girona tomorrow due to absences, but generally has struggled for game time.

According to what is being reported by Matteo Moretto of Relevo, contacts between Fenerbahçe and Milan for Pavlović began four days ago and will continue after the Champions League match between Milan and Girona.

The Serbian defender spoke with his compatriot Dušan Tadić, who plays under Jose Mourinho for the Istanbul club. The Turkish side are ‘ready to make a major effort to sign him’ this month, the journalist adds.

It is worth mentioning that La Gazzetta dello Sport speak of an offer of €20m plus bonuses being made by Fenerbahce for Pavlovic, which would actually allow the Rossoneri to make a small capital gain on the €18m they spent.

Sergio Conceicao will entrust the 23-year-old given Fikayo Tomori is suspended and Malick Thiaw is injured, but it could really be a farewell appearance for him.

  1. This seems unreasonable. At halfway point of the season why sell 1 of the 4 defenders you have. If we sell him then we have 3. So only 3 defenders playing 3 competitions from now until the end of the season?

  2. Pavlović is very strong CB,first class player. His problem in Serie A is that he didnt adapt to ACM last line, covering spaces, timing and game reading. All of them are tactical things, not technical(((Gabia is technicaly on 60% from Pavlović,but tacticaly on 100%))).He is also a bit young, and for Serie A defence you need some time. Some adapt sooner, some not.I will be realy sorry to see him go.Gabbia,Tomori,Pavlović,Thiaw…our CB defence is after looong time —–perfect! With only three of them…I dont know…the league is long, anything can happened

  3. I really don’t want to see him sold, he’s young, very solid and has great potential. Beginning of the season we were disastrous and conceding a lot and we are still doin so even with him on the bench, out problem is much deeper and I’m afraid we will have a second episode of CDK by letting him go and keeping Tomori who is ages away from his peak form

  4. Seems very risky to sell 1 out of 4 CBs without a real CB to replace him when we are still in both cups and need to improve in the league.

Thiaw is injured and have been injury prone, same goes for Gabbia. Tomori is very uneven and unreliable. Reports suggests Walker will play RB and take Emersons spot (who is on his way out) so he cant be seen as a replacement either.

Selling Emerson and Okafor to raise funds to an attacker and/or midfielder makes sense since we have plenty of options for LW and RB. Selling an CB seems mad.

  5. Don’t make the same mistake we did with CDK give him more time to show himself but we need to fire Ibrahimovic and Moncada 🙏🏻

  6. This ownership and management will showcase it’s idiocy if they actually ship him out this early, anyways Pavlovic has already made it clear he is staying.
