There is still a small financial gap that must be closed between Olivier Giroud and AC Milan if the French forward is to sign a new contract, a report claims.
As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), there is a gap of €300,000 between what Milan are offering the French striker and what he would like to receive.
The new deal will keep the 36-year-old at the club until the end of next season and it was initially believed that it would be on the same terms as what he earns now.
Giroud is expecting an offer of at least €4 million per season in order to stay with the club, but it is hard to imagine the two parties ways over what is, relatively speaking, a low amount of money.
New meetings are expected to take place in the very near future to finalise his renewal and keep some continuity in that position.
Maybe Milan should try to get Zapata. He’s 5 years younger and will play for half that. Also has a contract till 2024 so no big transfer fee
Just fvckin’ pay the man… alongside Leão he’s nowadays the only player in the squad who actually manages to score goals with some regularity, which cannot be said, for example, about the bad joke called Divock Origi…
They need to pay Leao first. Giroud is irrelevant, can be replaced easily. Leao not really…
Well, if Origi is earning that much and Giroud is currently doing more than him, then yeah he has every right to ask for more
Giroud is class .He is a true centre forward .I have said this over and over again
The man is brilliant inside the 18 yard area .Yes he is world class ..I said he would score against Torino and he did ..What the man needs is good service to him and he will score goals ..I tip him to score again on Tuesday against Tottenham in the champions leauge .
We I believe will win the match ..Yes I would like to see Rafeol leao up front with him ,,i expect to see a much improved performance from Rafeol on Tuesday ,he has not been the best of late ,but he is a class player he can run any defender ragged ..I was impressed very much with Salamakers against Torino and he certainly deserves to start ..Also a great performance from Theao Hernandez..So things are looking up .
Stay hopeful and optimistic all AC Milan fans ..
No offense, but his numbers say below average, not class. And I am talking about Milan only, if we mention his whole career it is evident…
Iam happy about my all time striker Olivier Giroud
