Five Milan players and two Chelsea legends make up Carlo Ancelotti’s dream XI

By Oliver Fisher -

Former AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has named five Rossoneri players in a team of the best players he’s worked with.

Ancelotti played for the Rossoneri from 1987 to 1992 and then was manager from 2001 to 2009, winning 15 major honours at the club across both periods.

He is now currently at Everton – a club that was just outside the relegation zone when he arrived in late December – after he departed Napoli following a somewhat difficult spell.

Ancelotti was asked by Marca to compile an XI based on the best players he has managed during his time at Parma, Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

Interestingly, he did not pick a single Real Madrid or Bayern Munich despite winning multiple trophies with both clubs.

Cafu, Paolo Maldini, Andrea Pirlo, Kaka and Andriy Shevchenko were all selected by the 60-year-old, as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva whom he worked with at PSG.

Ancelotti’s dream XI in full: Gianluigi Buffon; Cafu, Thiago Silva, John Terry, Paolo Maldini; Zinedine Zidane, Andrea Pirlo, Frank Lampard, Kaka; Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andriy Shevchenko.
