Florenzi coy when asked about Milan future as Maldini ‘does not even know’

After a rather successful loan spell, Alessandro Florenzi could remain at Milan as there is a buy-out clause included in his contract. However, as the player himself pointed out, the situation is uncertain for now.

Florenzi made 30 appearances for Milan this past season (all comps) and also found the back of the net twice. Given that the Rossoneri have a very young squad, the experience of the right-flank man has come in handy.

Currently on international duty with Italy, Florenzi was asked by Gazzetta Dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) about his future with Milan. He pointed out that even a man like Paolo Maldini doesn’t know for sure what will happen after June 30th.

“If someone like Paolo Maldini doesn’t even know what he will do on June 30th, then let alone myself. Now I’m thinking about doing well with the national team and about the vacation, then we’ll see. I got to know Maldini up close and he’s a man of great values,” he stated.

Milan have a €4.5m buy-out option that they can exercise to keep Florenzi but recent rumours have suggested that they want to obtain a small discount. It remains to be seen if they will succeed.
