CorSera: Fluidity, tight lines and movement – Milan have picked up where they left off

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have drawn a lot of praise after yet another encouraging preseason performance, this time in France as they ran out 2-0 winners against Marseille.

After losing 3-2 against ZTE in Hungary just over a week ago having been three goals down inside half an hour, Stefano Pioli’s men have responded in the best possible way as they destroyed Wolfsberger 5-0 in Austria and then beat Marseille fairly comfortable, who finished second in Ligue 1 last season.

As Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) have written this morning, Milan are showing that they have picked up where they left off on 22 May, the day they won the their 19th Scudetto with a very dominant 3-0 victory against Sassuolo.

They are demonstrating fluid play, constant movement, a systematic attack on the opponent’s goal with 5-6 players, tight lines and concentrated defense. Obviously it is not competitive action yet, but there are certainly many positive signs from Pioli’s men.
