Mike Maignan has been approached by Chelsea over a potential move but he has rejected their advances, according to a report.
According to Footmercato, Chelsea have shifted their focus to André Onana who has had a great season for Milan’s city rivals Inter. The Cameroonian goalkeeper is valued at nearly €58m by the Nerazzurri, who would sell for a capital gain given their dire financial situation.
Chelsea spoke with Milan about Maignan, who had publicly expressed his confusion after the sacking of Paolo Maldini last week which alerted the London club to the potential opportunity to pounce on an unhappy player.
A first offer was made by the Blues and it was quickly rejected by the Rossoneri. Above all, it has emerged that Maignan does not want to join Chelsea because they did not quality for any European competition next season.
It remains to be seen if Maignan wants to remain at Milan or if he might be more attracted by another possible other option which may present itself.
Keep him and renew his contract
Maignan wont want to leave ac milan
Only stayed because Chelsea don’t have Europe.
Not a good look for Milan Management.
