Former Brazil international Tita believes that Lucas Paqueta must fight to prove that AC Milan were right to spend €35million on him.
Paqueta’s struggled in recent months have been well documented as the 22-year-old has found game time hard to come by, with plenty of rumours circulating about a possible exit.
Speaking to TMW Tita, who played in Italy himself during his career, spoke about Paqueta’s future.
“They [Brazilians] mainly leave our country very young compared to what happened in the past when the players who left for Europe were already trained,” he began.
“Let’s take a Lucas Paquetà: Milan made a great investment for him and we expected more. Now I hear that he would like to return to Flamengo. When I was in Europe I did everything to fight and to stay there.
“At the first difficulty today we want to return to Brazil. I repeat, Milan has spent a lot for him and now Paquetà must accelerate to make to see that the efforts made by the rossoneri were right.”
