Former Juventus striker admits Serie A will be won by Milan or Napoli: “Allegri vs. Conte”

AC Milan are being tipped to win the Scudetto next season by a former Juventus striker, who has been coached by two of the greats.

There is a need to improve next season for Milan, and many would probably take getting back into Europe. However, there are some who believe that the Rossoneri could push further than that, in fact, battling for the Scudetto.

Of course, after finishing outside of the European places, there will probably be a few doubters. However, the last team to do similar was Napoli, and that ended with a Scudetto last season. In other words, it has happened before.

Llorente’s claim

The bookmakers, for what it’s worth, have the Diavolo as the fourth favourites behind Inter, Napoli and Juventus. Should that run occur, it would see a welcome return to the Champions League, but aspirations will certainly be higher.

This afternoon, Fernando Llorente spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport and offered his thoughts on the title picture, and his words have been relayed by Calciomercato.com.

“That’s for sure, he’ll [Allegri] compete with Conte. Max, when he saw me on the physiotherapy table at Juve, always made fun of me: “Nandone, how are you today?” He loves to joke, but he’s a winner like Conte.

“Napoli are the reigning champions and will strengthen: what a coup De Bruyne, a champion who has marked the recent history of City. Antonio is obsessive about work, and I’m convinced that he will give the Belgian a second youth.

“But initially De Bruyne will have to adapt to Conte’s training rhythms, I say this from personal experience: with him you suffer at first, but with time you go twice as fast as your opponents.”
