Fourteen AC Milan players called up for international duty

Sixteen AC Milan players have been called up to their respective squads for the next round of international fixtures.

Club captain Leonardo Bonucci and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma have been called up by Ventura to face Macedonia at home on October 6 and Albania away three days later.

Locatelli, Calabria and Cutrone have been meanwhile called up for Italy’s U21 team for their friendly matches against Hungary and Morocco. Zanellato and Gabbia have been called up for Italy’s U20 and U19 teams, respectively.

As for the other Europeans in the team, Andre Silva will play against Andorra and Switzerland for Portugal. He will face Ricardo Rodriguez, who will also have to deal with Hungarian attackers on October 7. Hakan Calhanoglu was also called up by Turkey to face Iceland and Finland.

In the South American qualifiers, Lucas Biglia has been called up by Argentina to face Peru and Ecuador. Zapata will play for Colombia against Paraguay (with Gustavo Gomez) and and Peru, while Gomez will face Venezuela besides the showdown between the two Milan center-backs. The fourteenth player involved will be Franck Kessie in Mali – Ivory Coast.
