From England: Milan interested in move for Arsenal academy star

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in the possibility of signing Arsenal starlet Sam Greenwood, according to reports in England.

Greenwood amassed 10 goals and five assists in 21 appearances for the Gunners in the U18 Premier League last season and is regarded as one of the club’s brightest prospects.

A report from English outlet The Sun states that both Milan and rivals Juventus have ‘sent scouts to track his progress’ at the U17 European Championships this summer.

Current Rossoneri Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis was at Arsenal when the club signed him from Sunderland last summer.

Greenwood – who has represented England at U17 level – plays predominantly as a right-winger, but can also play as a centre-forward or a support striker, as per Transfermarkt.

Sides from Germany are also interested in Greenwood, The Sun adds.

Meanwhile, another young striker in Catania’s Emanuele Pecorino is set to be confirmed as a new AC Milan player as he has arrived to sign for the club on Wednesday.
