From France: Maldini personally pushing to beat Wolves and RB Leipzig to centre-back

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini is personally pushing to secure the signing of centre-back Mohamed Simakan, according to a report.

FootMercato are reporting that Simakan was very close to joining Milan last summer but ended up remaining in France as it was above all the lateness of the Rossoneri’s move which prevented the transfer from being completed.

Despite this, Milan are not giving up on landing the 20-year-old and ‘seem ready to do anything’ to complete the arrival of Simakan. Maldini, who is a real fan of the player, is increasing contacts both with his entourage and with the player himself.

An offer is even in the pipeline and could quickly land on Strasbourg’s desk, but the Milan management know they are not alone in their pursuit as Wolverhampton Wanderers and RB Leipzig continue to closely monitor the player’s progress.
