AC Milan and Strasbourg are closing in on a deal for defender Mohamed Simakan despite the pressing of RB Leipzig, a report in France claims.
According to TF1 (via GFFN), Italian side Milan are in advanced negotiations with the Ligue 1 side over a deal which would cost €15m plus considerable bonuses.
The 20-year-old was reportedly the subject of four official bids from Milan in the previous window, and he is now discussing personal terms ahead of a proposed move to Italy.
Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are also in the race and want to sign him this month, so Milan fans will be hoping it is not another Dani Olmo style saga.
It is seemingly no secret now that Milan have made Simakan their number one target for the January window as they look to reinforce a centre-back department which has been hit hard by injuries already so far this season.
