From Poland: Entourage claim Spezia defender is very close to joining Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ‘very close’ to agreeing a deal to sign centre-back Jakub Kiwior from Spezia, according to what is being reported in his native Poland.

According to a report from Goal.pl, the information has arrived from ‘one of the stadium boxes’ – as confirmed by another source – that Kiwior is very close to transferring to Milan from Spezia. The report adds that someone close to the Poland international even added that ‘everything is done’.

The central defender has certainly been one of the more impressive players for Spezia since the start of last season and he is currently at the Poland national team’s training camp before their matches against the Netherlands and Wales.

It comes after MilanNews reported in August that Milan managed to obtain the right to first refusal for two Spezia players as part of Mattia Caldara’s move there. One player is Kiwior and the other player is French defender Kelvin Amian.

Kiwior moved Serie A a year ago at the end of the summer window from the Slovak side MSK Zilin.

  1. Great. More money spent on yet one more player who will get to play 15 minutes through the whole season while our attack and rw are in shambles.

    1. To provide some perspective, Milan have scored 13 goals in 7 Serie A matches and conceded 8 at the same time. You can argue that the defence is in “shambles” moreso than the attack.

Funny how people on here complain if they sign a player and complain if they don’t. Why is everything doom and gloom all the time?

  2. I thought Kiwior was a Defensive midfielder. I didn’t watch Spezia a lot last year, but every time I watched them he was playing in the midfield.
I guess the man is versatile.

  3. Kiwior is basically a fast impassable tank with good vision for long balls. can also play CDM as well if needed because of his passing ability. I highly doubt that we will get him.. EPL clubs want him badly.

  4. If this is true, and he’s first team ready, and can play DM + CB … OK great but, what was the point of signing Malick Thiaw? Surely he’s the young option in those positions.
