From Spain: Barcelona deny Milan have struck €20m deal for defender

By Oliver Fisher -

Barcelona have denied the presence of an agreement with AC Milan regarding defender Jean-Clair Todibo, according to a report.

It was claimed by La Gazzetta dello Sport earlier on Tuesday that Barcelona have given the go-ahead for the 20-year-old to complete his move to the San Siro on the basis of a loan with a option to buy set at €20m.

The paper added that he option of a buy-back clause – which would allow Barca to sign him again if he were to impress – is not included, and that the ball now passes to Todibo who must approve the move.

According to Mundo Deportivo however – as cited by BeSoccer – there is in fact no agreement between Milan and Barcelona for the player, as per sources inside the Catalan club.

Todibo’s agent is set to meet with the Barca board after Christmas to see what the future holds, with Todibo keen on staying at the Nou Camp.

This would mean that the door is still open for Bayer Leverkusen, Everton, Manchester United and other clubs who have been linked.
