Gallery: ‘Full throttle’, ‘Pobega seals Milan party’ – Today’s front pages of Italian papers

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan took care of business at home as they beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 to register their first Champions League win at San Siro since September 2013.

A first half penalty from Olivier Giroud got things rolling for the Rossoneri and Alexis Saelemaekers doubled the advantage with a header. Orsic got one back for the away side before Tommaso Pobega scored his first ever Milan goal to put things to bed.

Below are the front pages of the Italian papers…

Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan full throttle. Champions League, Pioli top of the group. Giroud, Saelemaekers and Pobega KO Dinamo. Leao super. Maldini: ‘Renewal? He decides’.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Giroud and Leao light up Milan: 3-1 over Dinamo and top spot.”

Tuttosport: “Pobega seals Milan party. Rossoneri put three past Dinamo (Giroud, goal and controversy).”

  1. And in other news… Juve lost again. And since there’s been so much talk about Juve’s superior transfer budget I find this hilarious:

“There are issues also off the pitch as the Serie A giants are expected to announce a €250m loss for 2021-22, so qualifying for the last 16 is a crucial target to boost their finances.”

So maybe Juventus has made “a mistake or two” with their finances as well… 😀
