Gallery: ‘What a robbery!’, ‘Milan red with rage’ – Today’s front pages of Italian papers

The Italian papers have described last night’s game between AC Milan and Chelsea – in particular the performance of referee Daniel Siebert – as a ‘robbery’.

The German referee Siebert made a huge call as he sent Fikayo Tomori off and gave a penalty after he adjudged the defender to have hauled back Mason Mount, even though every replay suggested it was the wrong decision with Mount getting his shot away and not even appealing.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “What a robbery! More the referee than Chelsea that beat Milan. Penalty and red card to Tomori are senseless after 18 minutes. Pioli: ‘Game transformed’. Leao renewal is close.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Another defeat after the hammering in London. Tomori, red card and penalty. Qualification is still possible.”

Tuttosport: “Milan red with rage. Tomori red card after 18 minutes sets the path for Chelsea: Now Pioli needs two wins.”
