Gallery: ‘The derby of derbies’, ‘Referee controversy’ – Today’s front pages in Italy

AC Milan face an enormous task if they are to reach the Champions League final as they must overturn a two-goal deficit against city rivals Inter in the second leg tonight.

Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan got the goals on Wednesday night to put the Nerazzurri in command, and give them one foot in the Istanbul final in view of tonight’s return fixture at 21:00 CEST.

Below is how the front pages of today’s Italian papers look…

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Champions League: Inter–Milan – final round. The derby of derbies. Everything about the night that leads to Istanbul and changes the future.

“The Nerazzuri start with a 2-0 win. Milan with Leao for the comeback. Is Rafa enough? Only if the devil is a team. Rich and proud, Milan collects many other records.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Champions Leagoe, Inter-Milan is worth a season: Final or flop. Psicoderby. Inzaghi: ‘It’s wrong to manage the 2-0.’ Pioli: ‘I believe’.

“Lukaku out: here’s Dzeko again close to Lautaro: Micky one yellow card away from suspension. Leao recovers. Krunic in midfield and record income. On the pitch at 21:00.”

Tuttosport: “Final derby: referee controversy. Inzaghi irritates Milan: ‘The referee is a French, like four Rossoneri. Krunic should have been sent off in the first leg.’ Pioli: ‘I don’t like to talk in advance.’ Tension Zhang-Cardinale.”
