Pedulla: Further meetings needed as Bennacer’s agent lays down salary demands

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s meeting with Ismael Bennacer’s entourage today did not bring about a decisive agreement but did help to establish the stance of both sides, a report claims.

It was reported earlier this afternoon by Antonio Vitiello of MilanNews, Luca Bendoni of Di Marzio and other sources that Enzo Raiola had arrived at Casa Milan where he would meet with the Milan management to discuss the possibility of extending his client’s deal.

According to what is being reported by Alfredo Pedulla, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara put forward an offer worth €3.8m net per season to Bennacer’s agent, but the request is not far off €4.5, including bonuses.

Therefore, the meeting can only really be described as an interlocutory one meaning others will be needed to reduce the distance between the offer and the demand, all with the backdrop of his deal expiring in June 2024 and rumours of interest from abroad.

  1. More time wasting by management!

The guy works his socks off for the team. He deserves what hes looking for, hed probably get way more in epl
So stop insulting the guy and sign him up. We are all fed up of these games.
The whole summer was wasted with maldini/ massara renewal and cdk deal.

      1. Well, in the real football world, the 3.8 mil offer to Bennacer is insulting. And that’s not Milan’s first offer. We read that they offered 3 mil before.
First, because Milan pays useless bums like Origi 4, Rebic 3.5 , Florenzi over 3 million a year, where neither one of them is a starter, a productive player or even available to play, but you are offering one of the best and along with Theo and Leao the most important players in the line up less money than Origi.
Second, players of Bennacer quality can easy make double that in other clubs. Why lowball him when he only asks for 4.5 and he can probably make way more somewhere else?
Kessie agent said something interesting during his interview. He said everyone is attacking Kessie for leaving for free, but people are forgetting that 3 other players left for free as well. He said maybe people should ask themselves if there is something wrong going on during negotiations.
And that wrong is probably Maldini coming in with an insulting offer, which drives players away and allows other clubs to enter the picture and show they value those players more than their current club.
Milan probably at the end comes in with a higher offer, but by that time, they have antagonized the player and his agent so much and to a point that he’d sign for any other club but with Milan.
Is just time wasting and losing leverage.
Negotiating is a skill. Being an all time great player doesn’t make you a great or good negotiator or a good Sporting director

  2. Guy has been here for years, always works hard, and has only had 1 poor season and a half below par season. The rest he’s been excellent. He deserves to be one of the best paid here. Give the 4.5 and move on.

Leao on the other hand, that renewal is not happening. Sell now.

  3. Meanwhile we pay 5 M to that bum Bakayoko.
He is so bad that we don’t even want him playing, not to trigger the compulsory buy clause in his loan.
So he makes 5 M to do nothing. Meanwhile Bennacer works super hard and is one of our best players; reliable, consistent, high quality. Give the man the 4.5 M and move on! And get rid of Bakayoko as soon as possible, that will save a lot more money than the 700K difference.
I do understand that we need to find some idiotic club that will want to take Bakayoko from us so that we can terminate the loan sooner. But we should work hard on this, and free the money to meet the demands of a great player like Bennacer.
