AC Milan are back to having some Italian representation in the team, with the latest set of international call-ups.

Next week, the Italian National Team will play two games, one in Estonia and the second at the Bluenergy in Udine, in the next set of International Qualifiers, hoping to overturn their form and get back into a position where qualification for the 2026 World Cup looks more possible.

To help, they will have a member of the Milan team, who rightly have a call-up to the National squad whilst sitting top of the Serie A table.

Gabbia returns

Samuele Ricci has been a mainstay in the squad for some time. However, he has lost his place recently, largely due to his lack of game time with the Rossoneri since joining in the summer. Nevertheless, as Calciomercato.com relay, there is a spot for Matteo Gabbia.

The Diavolo have one of the best defensive records in the league, and the boyhood Milanista has looked tremendous in the middle of Massimiliano Allegri’s back three, even captaining the side, filling a dream.

It is his first call-up since last October, so it is a testament to his recent strong performances, and hopefully, with continued good form, Milan can grow in numbers for the Azzurri.

        1. Its not a different Ricci.
The photo of called up players in the article is old, from previous call ups.
A bunch of the players in that photo are not called up.

          1. Yes it’s old
            Buongiorno is out injured
Barella, Esposito, Orsolini and Cambiaghi were called up but not on the list up there

    1. Bellanova actually has expressed something more in the grays and that he supported Inter as a kid as his entire family are Inter fans despite being an AC Milan youngster but nevertheless also send his gratitude for the years with the Rossoneri. He has also greeted the club but to call him a self claimed Milanista is pushing it in my view.
