AC Milan are willing to let Matteo Gabbia leave this summer but they are waiting until the right moment to sanction the exit, a report claims.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that Gabbia’s future at Milan is ‘to be deciphered’. The young centre-back would like to play with more continuity having struggled to get regular opportunities in the last couple of seasons, and Milan are also ready to grant his wish.
However, there is a catch: until a new central defender arrives, the Rossoneri will not be able to allow him to leave because of numerical cover reasons. Sampdoria have been interested in the player for some time, but the feeling is that until August the situation will not unlock.
Therefore, it appears as though the Primavera product will have to stay at Milanello until the final month of the mercato before potentially getting his domestic loan.
