TMW: Galatasaray make contact with Milan midfielder

By Euan Burns -

Turkish side Galatasaray have made contact with AC Milan midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko about a move, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttomercatoweb.com today, the Turkish Super Lig side would like to bring the Frenchman to Istanbul this summer.

It is a complicated situation because the player actually belongs to Chelsea but he is on a two-year loan at Milan. He is very much on the fringes of Stefano Pioli’s squad and there is little desire to keep him for the new campaign.

If he were to stay at Milan for the upcoming season and made more than 15 appearances, the Rossoneri would be obliged to pay Chelsea a fee of around €17 million.

The player could pursue the move because he knows he is in for a season of minimal game time if he does choose to stay with Milan. It could involve cooperation from all three clubs to make a deal work.

  1. It’s more exciting to see which player to be sold, loan, or cut off than players to come since the budget’s already near the limit. But we will know which surprising player to come in the end of this mercato.

  2. Bakayoko’s issue is painful. The way he started it well with Mbappe at Monaco was surprising and every team was looking for his signature but injuries put him on the sideline.

  3. That makes a lot more sense now. If Milan need to make sure he dosen’t play for 15games all season long, then they can’t really count on him as a back up. I thought that it is only a dry loan. But if it is like the article says, then yes it’s better to replace Bakayoko, unfortonetly.

  4. Change the formation to 433. He is good on that formation but if still want 4231 then get rid him as fast as posible before market close because he is teribble in double pivot. With 433 we only sacrifice brahim
