The Lazio defender Mario Gila appears to be getting closer to AC Milan, as highlighted by the newspapers this morning.
Since Ruben Amorim arrived as the new head coach, signing a centre-back has been a big priority, along with a striker which ended up being Goncalo Ramos. While several Portuguese names were initially linked for the position, it seems the new defender could come from spain.

Indeed, as confirmed yesterday, Milan have revitslised negotiations with Lazio and the entourage of Gila. The former management was already in talks with the 25-year-old and the Rossoneri thus haven’t started entirely from scratch, which is good.
Today’s newspaper naturally highlighted the links and how Gila is getting closer to a move. Not only that, but Ramos arriving and Modric potentially staying shows what Milan are about this summer. More signings are planned too, so it could get even better.

Gazzetta dello Sport
🙌 “Milan-style signings. Ramos flies, Gila secured, and Modric stays.”
Corriere dello Sport
👀 “Milan: hands on Gila. The braking of Napoli has opened up a path for Cardinale.”
💰 “Agreement with the agent of the defender, Lazio want €30m.”

By all means, if they manage to sign him, they are doing EXACTLY what every Milan fan for the past 5 years wanted- building a concrete team and most importantly- ACTING FAST AND DECISIVE.
Hopefully they can land him. We would still need another starting CB, LWB, CM and a winger/CAM but lets remember transfer window just started and they have month and a half until season starts. Just hope they keep doing what they are doing and this season could be a joy to watch.
Maybe a RWB as well?
Well maybe if there is a left over budget. But currently we certanly have bigger problems then RWB. Saelemakers was really good all season, and Athekame eas promising in second half of the season when he was given a chance.
Oh, but he just wasn’t so good in the second part of the season, his form gradually declined as the season went by for a number of reasons…
“Meanwhile, Mario Gila is just a step away.
The Rossoneri have reached a significant agreement with the Lazio defender’s agent, securing a significant financial settlement:
as reported by Corriere dello Sport, there’s
even talk of a €10 million commission.”
We mustn’t agree to this, that’s too much.
I’m surprised Milan finally decided to act as if they know what they are doing. Happy to finally see them close deals fast for players they actually want and need.
A new RWB would be great. Saladmaker just isnt good enough. We need a better player on that position.
I’m wondering if our talented youths are finally gonna get their chance to integrate into our 1st team. Would be great to finally have some more Milan blood get into the team.
It is a bit ironic that ACM act as if they know what they are doing. It is diffucult not to think that Moncada and Furlani was indecisive and cheap.
Now the money guy sits at the table, with a manager that knows what he wants. No middlemen.
For once in years I start being optimistic.
Smart recruitment so far. Signing specific quality players early in the transfer window. Glad it’s not a revolution again rather adding 3-4 quality players to the roster to get us back competing. Ramos & Gila are quality. If we can add flexible attacker like Brahim Diaz and give our youngsters a chance then it’ll be a solid Mercato.
No LWB, no MC, no (more) AMC besides Diaz,
not even a backup striker?
