Luka Modric has ended up in the spotlight once again, at least in today’s newspapers, as AC Milan are pushing for a contract renewal.
The win against Inter in the Derby della Madonnina certainly confirmed that Modric still has a lot of juice in the tank. Although he didn’t decide the game with a brilliant pass or anything that we usually associate the veteran with, his hard work meant a great deal to the Rossoneri.
As such, the Rossoneri are pushing for a renewal as the current deal will expire at the end of the season. There is already a one-year option included in the contract, but Modric’s approval is needed for it to be triggered.
The midfielder has always made it clear that he will decide at the end of the season, or perhaps after the World Cup, but there is some optimism that the answer will be yes. At least if today’s newspapers are to be believed.
