Gallery: ‘Captain Rafa decides’, ‘With minimal effort’ – today’s papers in Italy

AC Milan clinched all three points in their game against Hellas Verona last night and thus got back to winning ways. However, it was a performance that didn’t excite the fans, as highlighted by today’s papers.

The Rossoneri took the lead within the first ten minutes thanks to Rafael Leao, who was sent through on goal by Olivier Giroud. After that, Stefano Pioli’s men looked very lacklustre and more or less saw out the game.

On their front page, Gazzetta Dello Sport wrote the following about the game: “Verona beaten, Leao and that’s it for Milan. Captain Rafa decides the game, but the derby defeat has not been fully overcome.”

Corriere Dello Sport: “Leao brings home the three points for Milan. A win without brilliance and with minimal effort. A flash from Leao was enough.”
