Reports: Gattuso wants to reunite with two current Milan players at Valencia

By Oliver Fisher -

An AC Milan duo are in the sights of Gennaro Gattuso who looks set to take over as the new head coach of Valencia, a report claims.

According to TMW, there is an agreement in place that will see Gattuso take over at Valencia, so now it is time to plan the transfer market ahead and work is in progress to sign Bakayoko. The Frenchman is currently halfway into a two-year loan from Chelsea to Milan but it should be terminated early due to lack of playing time.

Bakayoko has already been coached by Gattuso during their time together at Milan in 2018-19 and in 2020-21 at Napoli, so it is more than just an idea for Valencia.

Meanwhile, Il Messaggero (via MilanNews) reports today that Alessio Romagnoli is also in the sights of Valencia as the centre-back has worked with Gattuso before. Lazio are still keen though, while Fiorentina are also sniffing around.

    1. He wasn’t bad under Gattuso’s management. Especially, at AC Milan. Gattuso’s style is to lock the center by using big guys, so Bakayoko is a good fit for that.

  1. He should also get Castillejo . He is the one that demanded for Milan to sign Samu in 2018. Samu transfer was around 25 mil including Carlos Bacca going the other way. Thats crazy
Loved Gattuso the player but i don’t get why teams keep hiring him as a coach. The best thing that happened to Fiorentina was not hiring him last summer.
the previous year at Napoli he had the 2nd best squad, only behind Inter, and he couldn’t even guide them to the Champions League
