Gazidis outlines Milan’s ‘aim’ regarding sustainability: “A strong, universal set of values”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis has once again preached the importance of the Rossoneri being a sustainable club who are in a virtuous cycle.

Through a statement on the official website, Milan presented their ‘AC Milan for All’ 2020-21 sustainability report which outlines the practices and principles of the club, as well as explaining the initiatives and activities undertaken.

The COVID-19 pandemic had an impact on every football club but it certainly forced the Rossoneri into emergency action in order to mitigate the effects that the public health crisis had on its stakeholders.

That is why the report functions as Milan’s way of transparently communicating their plans for sustainability, from an economic and social awareness point of view. The current edition, for the first time ever, has been given its own dedicated section on the website.

“Our aim, which is now codified with the publishing of the sustainability report, is to create a constructive environment, in which our investments and initiatives can improve the performance of the team, which will then generate more income that can be invested back into performances, and so on,” said CEO Ivan Gazidis.

“This process must be upheld by a strong, universal set of values, which go beyond what happens on the pitch and made the Rossoneri community proud of their Club.”

Martino Roghi, CSR & Sustainability Manager at Milan, added: “We’re proud to present this report to our stakeholders. It is not only an efficient method to communicate the state of our Club in full detail, but also a vital asset to make the Club even more sustainably in the future, as we take an introspective look year after year with analysis and examine the processes and activities, which began eight years ago now.”

  1. Lol I apologize for my countryman, he’s just as bad as our politicians when it comes to spewing nonsense, when I heard he was coming to Milan I knew he would make us profitable but I also knew he was going to be tighter than two coats of paint when it comes to money, same thing he did at Arsenal.

  2. the hell with his preach!
yes i’m doom and gloom about this season mercato.
and the hell with people here who say that if someone doesn’t agree with the current club policies, that person should support other teams.
everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
even if your opinion is right, it doesn’t mean that other people are wrong

  3. The comments of children who don’t understand finance. Gazidis has saved the club. It will be another year of cost cutting before Milan can compete in the transfer market.

    1. Those ungrateful fans don’t understand that Milan won’t be able to participate in Champions League due to FFP if Gazidis did not tighten the spending. Gazidis time might soon be over as Milan take the next step forward, he will pass the baton after helping Milan in the last few years of transitional phase.

      1. the problem is, sometimes Gazidis do/did something exaggerately/excessively and not in his capability.. remember when he talks behind Maldini and Boban for Rangnick that leads to Boban’s dismissal? and also the super league case?
yes he’s good at managing the finance and sponsorship, but that’s all he’s good at.. he’s not good at managing the transfer budget (in the sense he’s to strict about it)

  4. Key words to know you are about to hate what comes next: sustainable, universal, equitable, inclusive, etc.. guy is a slime ball and so is Elliot. Always thought so, never changed. Just because we won didn’t make him or Elliot great it just showed how good of a job Pioli actually did and how great of scouting Maldini and Massara did. We want CL glory again? Never will happen under Elliot Birds rule…..
