GdS: Predicted XIs for Milan vs. Como – Conceicao opts for 4-1-4-1

AC Milan will play their final league game before the first international break of 2025 when they take on Como at San Siro this evening.

The win over Lecce one week ago stopped the bleeding after three straight defeats, yet Milan remain under real pressure to put together a run of wins in order to at least try and climb towards the European places.

Tonight they face a dangerous opponent in Como, who have surged up the table this calendar year thanks to the exploits of Assane Diao. Cesc Fabregas would love a statement win at San Siro, amid links with the Rossoneri.

Predicted starting XIs

The good news for Milan is that there is only one absentee in Emerson Royal. Ruben Loftus-Cheek rejoined full training during the week and should sit on the bench, while Alessandro Florenzi returned to the match day squad for the Lecce squad.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) believe that Sergio Conceicao will field a 4-1-4-1 formation starting with a defence of Kyle Walker, Matteo Gabbia, Malick Thiaw and Theo Hernandez.

Warren Bondo should sit in front of the defence, with Yunus Musah and Tijjani Reijnders more advanced. They will be flanked by Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao, with Santiago Gimenez leading the line.

Predicted Milan XI (4-1-4-1): Maignan; Walker, Gabbia, Thiaw, Theo Hernandez; Bondo; Pulisic, Musah, Reijnders, Leao; Gimenez.

Predicted Como XI (4-3-3): Butez; Smolcic, Goldaniga, Kempf, Valle; Caqueret, Perrone, Da Cunha; Diao, Paz, Strefezza.

    1. The difference is the number of clicks that the article title would generate. If GdS said that it was a 4-3-3, nobody would pay attention.

  1. Disgusting team and manager. I can’t believe AC fans still have hope in this merry go round squad. MUSAH IS HORRIBLE and yo ur manager cant see he is blind.

  2. That three matter lost in a row will most likely come back to hunt us.If we had one those matches, it would have been easy for us to overtake either of Atalanta and Juventus. But right , we can only hope Juve slips and we have no loss which is nearly impossible.
