AC Milan appear to be no closer to agreeing a deal with Mino Raiola for the renewal of Gianluigi Donnarumma, a report claims.
According to today’s La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) there is gap still to be bridged between Milan and Raiola. The player has made it very clear that his absolute priority is to sign a new contract with the Rossoneri, his boyhood club who have shown a lot of faith in him since he was young.
Sentimental ties are not enough and finding an agreement quickly has become urgent, given that the current deadline is in exactly 134 days, or four and a half months. Raiola’s requests are currently to be considered unacceptable for Paolo Maldini and the management as he wants €10m net per season but only for two extra years.
The solution could be a compromise in which Milan agree to a three-year renewal, which would give them some breathing room before having to negotiate again. There remains the worry regarding the economic part, even if there are suspicions that Raiola’s €10m-a-year requests are just a negotiating tactic.
