GdS: Another big chance emerges for Leao against Sassuolo but consistency is needed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will be left to rely on Rafael Leao for Sunday’s trip to face Sassuolo in yet another crucial encounter.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports (via MilanNews), with Zlatan Ibrahimovic injured again and Ante Rebic out because of an injury to his foot (nothing serious, he will be back on Wednesday), the weight of the attack will fall on Leao’s shoulders.

He will be the centre-forward that Stefano Pioli calls upon against the Neroverdi, and the time has really come for the Portuguese to start showing that a turning point has arrived.

He must find consistency, something he has not yet found in his year and a half at Milan. Pioli has always bet on the qualities of the young forward, who has what it takes from a talent point of view but does not always manage to bring it out in game situations.

Leao has not yet found his real place in Milan. Pioli tried him as a support striker earlier in 2020 when Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned, then as a left winger (perhaps the role that suits him best) and now as a striker.
