GdS: Bologna the only club left in race for Milan outcast Ballo-Toure

By Isak Möller -

Fode Ballo-Toure is expected to leave AC Milan very soon but despite many accepted offers, the Senegalese international hasn’t moved yet. The only club left in the running, therefore, are Bologna.

The likes of Nice, Werder Bremen and Fulham have all expressed their interest in the left-back this summer. Despite Milan accepting offers from some of them, a move never materialised as Ballo-Toure seemingly is holding out for Bologna.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by SempreMilan.it, Bologna are the only side left in the race as Ballo-Toure likes their project the most. However, they are only willing to take the player on a loan for now.

This is a formula that obviously doesn’t excite Milan too much, especially since they have received decent offers for the player this summer. It remains to be seen if an agreement can be found between the parties, but the Rossoneri are increasingly frustrated with the left-back.

  1. I mean this is the same thing Musah, Pulisic and plenty of others have done, no point in us being frustrated – if he wants to either move to Bologna or stay, work out what the best deal is and make a choice. If chooses to stay as backup left-back who might not be able to play in Europe, then so be it.

    1. exactly, also he has a contract with us, if we dont play him this year to punish him, we will have to pay the remainder of his contract for termination with just cause.

so it will not help us at all either.

The best solution is to work with the player to help him find a solution he agrees with.

  2. Cancel Musah and use Ballo-Toure for a discount on Dominguez. It won’t be a good look for us, but it may make the most sense financially if Ballo-Toure is unwilling to go somewhere else. We would also get an Argentina international and experienced Serie A player in a position that we need as opposed to the “where will he play/what’s his best role” Musah.

    1. I’ve seen bad ideas and this one counts as a bad idea. It also would damage trust players would have for this team in joining us.

  3. Let him go on loan then with an obligation to buy. Then sell Origi to Saudi Arabia. You just do what you have to do. It’s better we don’t have these salaries.
