Another meeting took place at Casa Milan between Hakan Calhanoglu’s agent and the Milan management over his renewal.
According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the desire for the two parties to continue together and extend his contract is there but an agreement is not. There is still a significant economic difference between the two sides and no substantial news emerged from yesterday’s meeting.
The last obstacle to overcome concerns bonuses, because the economic distance must be bridged. Milan offers €4m net per season, while Calhanoglu expects €5m per season to extend until 2025. Only bonuses, as mentioned, can unblock the situation.
The paper writes that from Casa Milan messages of “cautious optimism” filter out. The top management and the player’s agent have met and next week there will be a new meeting at the club’s headquarters to try and finally bring an end to the saga, but new indirect contacts are expected this weekend.
