GdS: Chelsea man Pulisic puts on a show as Milan remain in the background

By Isak Möller -

Christian Pulisic was the hero for the USA last night as they managed to beat Mexico 3-0 in the Concacaf Nations League, bagging a brace. He sent a signal to the teams interested in his services, including AC Milan.

Pulisic struggled to get playing time this past season, registering just 1012 minutes on the pitch across 30 appearances at Chelsea. His point production wasn’t great either, scoring just one goal and assisting a couple. As such, he has been linked with a transfer this summer.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, Milan are one of the teams that are watching on in the background. And yesterday’s performance with the national team was certainly a signal from Pulisic, who is eager to show his qualities.

Milan have a big American fanbase and their owner, Gerry Cardinale, is also from the United States. One can understand why the Rossoneri are tempted to make a move for Pulisic, therefore, but everything will depend on the price tag.

  1. Nice performance, and it’s against Mexico, one of the stronger NT in North America, so decent opponent.

I think if we get him he will be a nice addition for our right wing, he is still young (24 y.o), definitely got the potential, and will be eager to prove himself after underwhelming at Chelsea.

If we talk about last season… Let’s be honest, last season all of Chelsea was underperforming. He can still prove to be a big thing for us.

    1. He has been almost the same his entire career. He will never perform consistently, that is what I see. He can be good a few matches but that is it. Check his stats from seasons before, most of his goals always come in that one month when he is feeling good. Also, last season was the first where he wasn’t injured for half of the season. There are better wingers, it would be much better for Milan to spend that money on Gnonto, 19 with 10 caps for Italy already. I’d rather bet on him and for less money probably.

      1. Yea I know there are better wingers, but IF he will come then I think he is still good addition for us.

        Personally my choice would be
        1. Chukwueze for 30-35m
        2. Orsolini for 15m

        1. Milan should sign Orsolini as that is a realistic target. Under 15M with expiring contract next year. Pulisic is a waste of time, he will be injured all the time.

    2. O yeah. His BvB years he was always highly rated, while not a crazy goals scorer but end of the day Pulisić would be a massive improvment over Junior and Alexis..
Chelsea keeps buying players so its hard for anyone to get continually first team action.

  2. I checked, he played as a LW in this game. Milan needs a real left footed RW, not someone who can just fill that position. Imagine playing Leao as a RW, he wont be nearly as efective as on the left. Same thing for Pulisic. Better get that Chuwk kid from Viliareal or Zaniolo. Or if we are so short on money go for some cheaper options like Baldanzi, Osario, Romero.

    1. Which Zaniolo?
      Is Zaniolo good enough? No.
      Zaniolo is overrated.

Please what’s his personal best record in a season and when last did he achieve that? Zaniolo is no different from what we have on the RW Currently.

      1. What? How can you write such nonsense? Zaniolo is about 20 times better than Messias. And better than Pulisic 100%. And a first team player for Italy, you think he picked him because he is worse than Messias? But still, we should sign Orsolini.

  3. The injury record is worrying with Pulisic. Whoever our RW is, he’ll need to stay healthy because alternative is tragic.

  4. When Pulisic gets hot he is impossible to cover or drop for the team. The one huge positive with him is that he can play either foot and he can carve teams up when he gets in the pockets. It was just a few years ago he scored and assisted in the champions league semis vs Real Madrid. He also had his best season in Prem scoring 11 with him and Oli having amazing cohesion. Injury Record and price tag is what worries me. If price is right I’d snag him up quick.
