GdS: De Ketelaere leads Serie A in important ranking while waiting for first goal

By Oliver Fisher -

Charles De Ketelaere is yet to score his first goal for AC Milan but in the meantime he continues to create a number of clear chances.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that De Ketelaere is at the top of the ranking for chances created in his first eight Serie A appearances as he created at least three scoring chances per game which is better than Zielinski (2.7), Deulofeu (2.6), Politano (2.5) and Elmas (2.4).

The Belgian is yet to score a goal since his move from Club Brugge for over €30m whereas last season he got 18, so it is natural that fans soon expect him to open his account.

Against Napoli he put Messias through on goal, against Empoli he found Rafael Leao with a cut-back that should have resulted in a goal, and in Salzburg he started the move that led to Alexis Saelemakers’ opener.

With the Rossoneri in an injury crisis for the game against Chelsea, the 21-year-old will have to show all of his personality along with Leao and Olivier Giroud. We have seen glimpses of his quality so far, and a spark could be just around the corner.

  1. Finally someone appreciates something else like goals! It looks like serie a is only like scoring goals if you don’t score you are not seen. Unlike the la liga premier league and al the other leagues where they respect thé assists more and applause the key passes!

    1. And on top of that he’s been unfortunate to have a couple of his goals chalked off and for some of those passes he puts his teammates thru he served them on a platter yet they failed to score. So wasn’t really on him. He’s fine. He just needs to get up to date with the system and what is required of his role.

  2. Every article about cdk is about scoring f*ck that! If he gives 10 assists 20 key passes he is still a top player for me it is about the team and not a individual!

  3. He played in attack, as a CF. Of course he scored more. He wasn’t brought to Milan to score 20 goals per season but to link up play and set up goals.

  4. So just coming back from the game tonight. Had to sit in Chelsea end but hey ho. Thought Tonali was solid tonight but I just don’t get the hype around CDK. belotti and Dybala were there for the taking on frees!! Forza Milano!!
