GdS: Doubts about the ‘new Milan’ for Ibrahimovic but Gazidis is open to a renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

Like seemingly most key players and key figures at AC Milan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s future with the club beyond the summer is in doubt.

The farewell of Zvonimir Boban appears to be firmly on the horizon after the interview he gave to the media about CEO Ivan Gazidis and his decision to contact Ralf Rangnick.

On Thursday Ibrahimovic sent out a message on social media: “Do it with passion or don’t do it at all”. Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) wonders if it is a notice to Milan; a declaration of love for the club or a signal of his possible retirement.

Milan are in turmoil at the moment after the clash between Boban, Maldini and Gazidis. The first two are those who strongly wanted to bring the Swede back to Milanello in January and without them his renewal appears very complicated.

Ibra’s doubts that would increase even more in the event that Ralf Rangnick should arrive on the Milan bench, as the German seems to have a tactical approach which would not fit the 38-year-old’s skills.

It is no mystery that his return changed Milan. Despite his age, the former PSG forward has surprised everyone once again, including Ivan Gazidis, who cannot rule out offering him renewal for another season.

If the new project intrigues Zlatan, and there are many doubts about this, his future may still be at San Siro.
