GdS: Fiorentina emerge as possible destination for Cutrone

By Oliver Fisher -

Former AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella is interested in bringing Patrick Cutrone to Fiorentina, according to a report.

Cutrone made 40 appearances in all competitions this season for the Rossoneri, however there continues to be speculation about his future and whether it in fact lies away from San Siro.

The 21-year-old found himself playing second fiddle for large parts of last season; firstly behind Gonzalo Higuain and then Krzysztof Piatek after his arrival in January.

Atalanta are reportedly one of the clubs monitoring the forward’s situation, while Torino have also been credited with interest.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport though there is a third team in the mix, as Fiorentina are keen on the idea of bringing Cutrone to Florence.

Montella is the current head coach there, having been Milan boss in the 2016-17 season, and the idea of a switch to the Stadio Artemio Franchi is described as a ‘solution’ for Cutrone.

For their part, Paolo Maldini and the Diavolo leaders apparently value the young striker at around €30million.
