Fiorentina are the latest team to show an interest in signing AC Milan defender Matteo Gabbia, according to a report.

A number of teams have been linked with a move for Gabbia who has impressed in the opportunities he has had for the senior side over the past few months.

The first to be linked were Parma, and then Crotone and Genoa also reportedly knocked on the door, but according to Thursday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) there is another team in the running.

Fiorentina are now also in the race for the 20-year-old, but the paper adds that for the moment at least Milan consider Gabbia to be non-transferable, as he is the first alternative to the starting pairing of Kjaer and Romagnoli.

Nonetheless, a meeting between Milan and Fiorentina could be held in the next few days, with a number of players involved in the axis between the two sides such as Paqueta, Milenkovic, Pezzella and Federico Chiesa.
