GdS: ‘First gift for Fonseca’ – Milan expected to sign France international for €20m+

It is likely that Paulo Fonseca’s first ‘gift’ will not be a striker as expected in the last few weeks, but rather Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, the management know that they must sign not only a striker but also players in other areas, given they will look to compete in Serie A, Coppa Italia, Champions League and the Supercoppa Italiana.

Reinforcements will be needed in every area of the pitch, attack aside. The season begins without any new additions (and in fact the Curva Sud has chosen not to be at Milanello is partly because there is no player to welcome) but they will come.

At present, it seems most likely that Youssouf Fofana will be the first addition. The 25-year-old can arrive for €20m plus bonuses and there are ‘no insurmountable obstacles’, rather the wait is due to the player’s commitments at the European Championship.

He has already said yes to Milan and while the clubs still have to finalise the agreement, the price is not an issue it seems. The quota of French internationals in the Rossoneri would remain intact (Giroud out, Fofana in).

The keys to the midfield could thus change hands as Ismael Bennacer may leave, given that there is interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

  1. Let’s not use the European competition to do a cover up, if the management is not able to buy zirkzee what about dovbyk, is that not a striker enough instead of morata, what does the morata even have to offer?
If Milan doesn’t collect a trophy 🏆 this season what would be said? Is that not the reason why inter milan defeated us by 5 goals to 1, and 2 goals to 1 for the 2nd leg in the serie a, AC Milan management please sit up oooo.

    1. Morata has Serie A experience and he is top striker for club and country. Dovbyk would be a risk if signed him.

Dovbyk has no Serie A experience and it takes time for strikers to adapt to a league that’s built on good defending unlike La Liga, EPL and Bundesliga.

Morata is a better signing. No we need to sign a good a young striker along with Morata.

      1. If some fans can reason like this maybe we should just leave them to there rants, I can remember when we signed Piatek I honestly thought we are over with striker issues until it appears the guy as not enough tactical knowledge and movement and several training as now showed he still dint improve since he as left MILAN, we cannot afford to spend 50 to 60 million and realize we’ve wasted it, I will rather we go for Morata as a guarantee nd we can Boniface with all that strength nd pace, nd it OK to be any good striker choice bt we need a Morata level of striker.

    2. There is a very large gap between Inter and the rest of the league, I think if Milan doesn’t get a trophy it will be said that you can’t make up that type of ground in 2 years…They are stuck because they can’t offer salaries the size of inter because the prior management refused to sell players so the team lost 300M while Inter made money in the transfer market over the last 5 years. Second place last season was seen as a huge failure. Meanwhile, they scored more goals than any Milan side since 2005. The defense is the priority…but they will start to close the gaps.

  2. Dovbyk is same like Zikrzee, one great seasson and they want 40m €… But player himself want to stay in Girona…
I don’t like Morata, but still his numbers are good for this price + he is experienced player..Real , Juve, Chelsea, Atletico. If he is able to score like in Atletico (around 14g and few assist) in Seria A, we are okey. Same in LM, the numbers speaks for him… Both Zirkzee and Dovbik can be talented, but also it can be a flop….
For me definitely Morata, Lukaku or Jonathan David

    1. Woldik, You Really Are A Guy who understands Football unlike Some fans Who want a 23 yo zirkzee with 12 g this seasom😭 for 55m 💀💀

  3. I’m glad we are out of the race for Zirkzee, an experience striker is far better or a consistent 20 goals a season striker than the youth strikers that wants to display their skills and searching for classical goals or television wonder moments, give us class not one season wonders

    1. Umm ya that would be nice but who the hell actually believes Redbird will spend the kid of money it takes to actually BUY a “CONSISTENT 20 goals a season”???????

Do you know how much $$$ those players cost??? lol

And Morata isn’t a consistent 20 goals scorer any longer having scored 13 and 15 goals respectively the past 2 seasons.

A club that has AMBITION AND wants to WIN titles would have signed BOTH players – Zirkzee and Morata.

But alas We are owned by Redbird and we just have to Keep dreaming.

  4. The media maybe wants to think there was a race for Zirkzee but they reported months ago that his agent wanted him in England. He works for those clubs. There was no race. There was no commission…just an agent with too much power providing specific teams with the talent they want. 15M in commission is against the rules and if they agreed, he would say its 20M…no paper work will be signed by any team that says he gets 15M but they find other ways to compensate him for delivering players.

  5. These furrlani bots are out in full force in the comment section. Finding every bad excuse to defend that serial loser.

These paid bots. The management must really be feeling the heat. Anyway these guys are the minority so no matter.

As for my opinion Morrota is a washed up player not worth singing and is a complete waste of space in our roster. After giroud we need to look to the future for a high prospect striker and zirkzee was exactly what we need.

Zirkzee was the best option far better then 10 old useless washed up morrota’s.

This guy has strength, technique, hold up play, brings attackers into the game and did great with 12 goals for a team like genoa. If he came to milan 20 goals atleast. I’m confident of that. With the quality compared to bologna he would go up 2 levels.

Back in your caves furlani bots.

    1. Calm down Joorabchian bot.

Zirkzee has plenty of talent and can become a very good player. Plenty of physique and skill. But is he worth that sum? Only time will tell, and I suspect he’s unlikely to whist sitting on Man Utd’s bench and seeing a few minutes here or there.

Morata may not be at his peak but neither was Giroud when he signed and he still did am excellent job for three years. And Alvaro is much younger than Olivier was, and has been a mainstay in his national team and various top club sides for a decade.

You can look at things with more nuance. If your programming improves.

  6. Deal completion: The transfer of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna to Manchester United seems to be in its final stages or completed.

Commission fee: Joorabchian has secured a 10 million euro commission for his role in facilitating the transfer. This is a significant amount, though less than the initially reported £12 million (approximately 14 million euros) he was said to be demanding earlier.

Compromise: The final commission of 10 million euros represents a middle ground between Joorabchian’s initial demands and what Manchester United was willing to pay. It’s lower than what was reportedly asked from AC Milan, which aligns with earlier reports that Joorabchian was willing to reduce his fee for United.

Strategic negotiation: This outcome suggests that Joorabchian strategically negotiated with different clubs, ultimately favoring a deal with Manchester United. His willingness to adjust his commission likely played a crucial role in steering the transfer towards United and away from AC Milan.
Impact on the transfer market: This high-profile deal and substantial agent fee highlight the significant influence that agents like Joorabchian can have on major transfers in football.

    1. I used AI so I could fit the role better…but it did a good job summarizing how Kai is able to get players to arsenal and united…
